When we arrived at the border there were about ten cars in line and one line open with a border guard. When we got to the window the man behind the glass, had a feeling that he might be a little on the gruff side. Totally right...after a few preliminary questions he said "drop the back window". Seemed like a strange way to say it to me, so after processing for a few seconds, and then starting to look for the button to "drop the back window", I obviously wasn't doing it fast enough for his liking so I got another "DROP THE BACK WINDOW!" command. As it turned out the child lock was on, and once Katie helped me figure that out, I was able to "drop the back window", before I really got in trouble! Funny thing because of my fumbling the next question was "whose car is this?" Well it's mine, I said, thinking....you don't really have to act like that.
Smooth sailing after that...good roads, little blowing snow but really nothing. Arrived in Council Bluffs at 5:30PM.
Nice of Harrah's to give us free nights so that Katie can take their money with us. As usual nice view from the room looking across the river to Omaha City Omaha.
We went for supper to Cracker Barrel and had a really good Turkey dinner with dressing and all the fixings. It was really good, we were hungry after the drive.
Back to our room, and then downstairs to the Casino. A few hours later I was down $50, after having been up and down the whole night. What about Katie you may ask?
After considering my loss...we ended up $450 net profit for the night. The girl is simply amazing in many more ways than one.
Got caught up on the Jets trade...sorry for the Ladd fans...I liked him also, but for the long term good of the team he had to go.
I used my newly purchased HooToo portable router for several connections to the internet, will write more about that later.
Then it was time to relax a bit, and off to bed.
And so ends another great day on the way to the Valley
more later...
