Katie and I missed our orientation at the Gym yesterday as we were both stiff from playing with the kids in Mexico outside for a long time. Something we're just not used to.
We went today and met with Sydney the trainer. That girl looks fit! Still can't believe we have this membership for a month for what amounts to $15 each. She took us to a machine which weighed us and took the fat content of our bodies. TOP SECRET!
Syd took us to the back where she had us take large exercise balls, put them behind our backs, hold our arms out straight, and slide down the wall so that we were doing a squat. I hate squats!!!, but
dutifully we did two sets of 12. Syd said she didn't want to work us too hard so that we would not come back. Thanks Syd.
Then we did step ups on platforms, two sets of 12. Then over to the arm machines, where we did several reps on a few machines.
That was it for the first day. Katie had been on the stair stepper and me on the treadmill for 15 minutes because we got there early to meet Syd. We went back on each for 20 minutes, and then headed for home.
It was really good, and we plan to go Monday, Wednesday, Friday next week.
Steve came over, he and his wife Janet rented our place for two years before they bought their own. He invited us to the Canada Picnic to be held in the hall, but we are unable to go this year, due to a previous commitment.
We went to say hi to our friends Remi and Danna, and had a drink and lots of fun conversation with them. It was very good to see them both!
Katie and I just took it easy for the rest of the night, as we were both starting to get a bit stiff again, and not from drinking too much.
